Service delivery compromised following Endumeni crane truck crash

Questions have been asked as to why no case has been lodged with the SAPS

There is to be an investigation into how an eight-ton crane truck belonging to Endumeni Municipality’s electrical department crashed and overturned. The vehicle landed on a railway line on the Dundee / Glencoe road on Saturday morning.

Witnesses said the driver fled the scene and a passenger, who is not a municipal employee, was left injured in the vehicle. The crane truck, which was badly damaged, is used by electricians to carry out vital repairs to minisubs and pole mount transformers.

Queries to the Dundee SAPS revealed that no case or accident report has been lodged.
