Pageant prodigy Zona Zulu triumphs at Miss Teen Excellency SA

Newcastle's Zona Zulu, the 11-year-old pageant prodigy, has added another remarkable achievement to her growing list of accolades.

On Saturday, (September 14) Zona was crowned Queen in the Miss Teen Excellency South Africa Pre-Teen category at the Victory Theatre in Houghton, Johannesburg.

This prestigious title came after an impressive performance during the preliminary judging event, which took place the day before at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg.

In addition to winning the Queen title, Zona secured the coveted provincial title of Miss KwaZulu-Natal and was awarded the prize for Best National Costume, further underscoring her versatility and creative flair.

By taking the Queen in Miss Teen Excellency South Africa title, Zona secured herself a space to compete in the Miss Teen Excellency International in December.

Competing against some of the brightest young stars from across South Africa, Zona’s intelligence, confidence, and poise stood out, earning her the admiration of both judges and audience members.

Since her journey started in March 2023, Zona has been unstoppable, continuously impressing with charm and grace.

With multiple titles under her belt – including Miss Newcastle Senior Primary School, 2nd Princess in the Mr. and Miss KwaZulu-Natal, Queen Glamorous, Queen Memel, and numerous other accolades – her latest victory at Miss Teen Excellency South Africa is the crowning jewel in her flourishing career.

This monumental success would not have been possible without the tremendous support of her family, friends, and the Newcastle community.

Zona and her family extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has been part of her journey – from cheering her on at local competitions to providing sponsorships and donations that enabled her to compete on the national stage.

Special thanks are extended to those who contributed to her outreach initiatives, supporting her commitment to giving back through donations of clothing and food parcels to those in need.

As Zona celebrates these extraordinary accomplishments, she remains dedicated to her community service and leadership efforts.

Her passion for making a difference goes hand-in-hand with her pageant success, and she continues to seek partnerships with sponsors who share her vision of uplifting others.
