Market day vendors dress up to welcome spring

Vendors dressed up to match the occasion at the Spring Fling Market Day hosted at Majuba Lodge on Saturday.

Many donned colourful garlands and dressed in bright colours with one vendor even arriving as a garden fairy to express her enthusiasm for the warmer season.

Event organiser, Tara Wood, said vendors were encouraged to incorporate an element of spring into their dress as well as at their stalls, and prizes were awarded for the best effort.

The Herbal House stand hosted by Sharita Gangapersad and their family won the best-decorated stall.

Wood remarked that this vendor clearly went all out, using vases of flowers and potted plants to decorate.

The prize for the best-dressed vendor went to Dina Prinsloo. Wood described Prinsloo as the most elegantly dressed vendor in her spring-themed dress with roses in her hair.

The next market day takes place at the Newcastle Equestrian Club on September 28, alongside an equestrian competition which takes place on the same day.
