Alyssa needs votes to win Mrs Universe South Africa 2024

“Mrs Universe South Africa caters for women who are aged between 22 and 55 years old and we grow ourselves, as well as advocate against domestic violence.''

Alyssa Barberis ( neé Stockers) who was born and bred in Vryheid before moving to Johannesburg, is a semi-finalist in Mrs Universe South Africa 2024.
Alyssa (33) is a dedicated teacher and mom based in Fourways. She says she has special memories of Vryheid, as her father, Glen William Stockers, and her mother, Dalcryce Stockers, taught for many years at Lakeside Park Primary School. Alyssa attended NRS until Grade 5, when her father passed away and they had to move.
Alyssa shares that she studied acting and television production, and worked for MNET and other channels. However, she quickly went back to her first love, namely being a teacher, explaining that this is something that runs in her family and she has endless love for children.
Alyssa went on to explain that she has always loved pageants. “When I was still young, I would enter our school pageant. I entered Miss PEP and other local pageants back in the day, and also always thought I was a princess because my dad would call me his ‘little princess’ all the time.” Alyssa says she entered the Mrs Universe South Africa pageant early this year and was selected to be part of the second group. ‘’I have always loved helping in the community, as I would do drama lessons at orphanages, but no one really paid attention. Now that I am part of this pageant, I get to do lots of charity work and that is very close to my heart.’’ Alyssa says she is working with ‘Spreading the Love NPO’ and ‘House of Hope’, which caters for children. She donates food parcels, toys, clothes and other necessities the children might need.
Alyssa concluded by saying, “Mrs Universe South Africa caters for women who are aged between 22 and 55 years old and we grow ourselves, as well as advocate against domestic violence. We all have a story to tell and we can all learn and teach from each other’s stories.’’
