Little Lia Brits (7), who is bravely fighting Cystic Fibrosis, has been blessed by Phil and Joan Simmons of Gowrie Golf Estate in the Midlands.

Lia Brits, the granddaughter of local stalwart, Tillie Kirkland, has been in and out of hospital after being diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.

The Brits family currently reside in Panama in the USA to ensure Lia receives the best treatment possible to live a happy and healthy life.

However, to do so, she needs ‘the miracle drug’ called Trixacar which will keep lung infections at bay and help strengthen her respiratory system.

The cost of the medication is a staggering $5563 (R101 933) for a month’s supply.

To help the Brits family afford the medication, the Simmons have happily put up a remarkable raffle prize worth R10 000 to assist little Lia and her fight for life.
