Three people died after the bakkie they were travelling in overturned on the N11 at the Chelmsford Dam junction this morning (January 28).

Chantelle Botha of KwaZulu Private Ambulance Services said that when paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the driver of the bakkie had lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn.

“Paramedics quickly assessed the scene and found that one patient had sustained serious injuries. The patient was treated on scene before being transported to the hospital for further treatment,” Botha said.

“Sadly, the three other occupants of the vehicle had sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to their injuries before emergency services arrived and were declared dead at the scene.”
