Foundation takes initiative to clean training centre after vandalism

“Hlobane Training Centre serves as a satellite office for local government, which is Abaqulusi Local Municipality.''

A programme to clean Hlobane Training Centre was led by Zakhele Foundation members and responsible citizens of Hlobane, under the supervision of AbaQulusi Local Municipality’s CWP and EPWP workers last week.
This initiative was formulated after a community protest in the Thuthukani area of Hlobane, which led to the vandalism of the centre in December.
Zakhele Xulu mentioned that, “Hlobane Training Centre serves as a satellite office for local government, which is Abaqulusi Local Municipality. Residents can pay for their municipal services and purchase electricity, and it provides support of any kind when it comes to service delivery. This satellite office assists even the surrounding communities, including Hlobane Cliffdale.”
He further explained that the clean-up was a ‘voluntary initiative’ and no cash flow was involved; it was free of charge. “The initiative was not part of any political interference.’’
Xulu thanked all community members who were present to clean and remove broken glass in the offices, as well as clean the offices of the Hlobane site managers.
