Four suspects nabbed for possession of stolen copper

The suspected stolen copper weighed approximately 120kg.

Four men, aged between 23 and 43, were taken into custody in the Dundee CBD last week for suspected theft of copper.
A local business owner tipped off the police on Tuesday, December 5, about individuals who were selling copper on his property.
When Dundee police officers and the Discover Grace security business arrived at the scene, they found that four suspects had copper in a bakkie.
The copper weighed approximately 120kg.
The suspects were taken into custody at Dundee SAPS for allegedly having stolen the copper they had in their possession.
When they appeared in the Dundee Magistrate’s Court, the case was remanded to December 18 for a bail application.
The district commissioner would like to express gratitude to local businesses for co-operating with the SAPS in the battle against crime.
