Action-packed match as cricket rivals meet

The opening batsmen hit the ball to all corners of the ground

Another action-packed Northern District Cricket Union (NDCU) match was held last Saturday (December 2) at the Ladysmith High School (LHS) sports grounds when rivals K&L and Callies locked horns.

K&L opened the batting and made a mammoth 303 runs in 30 overs, for the loss of five wickets.

This was largely thanks to a great opening wicket partnership between Mohamed Moola and Shaheen Hoosen.

As usual, Moola played magnificently to score 87 runs before being bowled out by Seth.

Hoosen was the first to lose his wicket after making 66 runs. He was bowled out by Allister.

Imraan Hoosen also had a great day with the bat, managing to amass 70 runs not out.

Callies, in turn, only managed to make 55 runs all out in 20 overs.

Top scorers for Callies were Cassim with 21 runs and Saish with 12.
