The Glencoe Arts Festival is expected to surpass previous years’ magnitude and excellence. The fifth annual Glencoe Arts Festival, now in its fifth year, will feature a family-friendly event, a collaboration platform for local artists, and an exhibition of artistic talents. The festival started back in 2019 when a group of creative individuals got together when they saw a gap in creative arts within Endumeni. This year’s theme is ‘Go crazy with kotini’ and the festival will be held at the Glencoe Town Hall on November 25.

“The community really loves our art festival and as a result, the number of people coming to the festival has grown,” said Simpiwe, one of the organisers. He added that they also get a lot of support from local artists, as well as artists from out of town.

“Local artists will be performing, and there will also be a fashion show and photographers showcasing their work,” explained Andiswa Madondo. She added that there will be an award for the best dressed man and woman, and a whole lot of other fun activities for the entire family to enjoy. Vika Ngobese, another one of the organisers, told the Courier that this year they are also planning to have a Christmas festival where they will be providing those in need with a complimentary lunch, toys, clothing and much more. “We would appreciate any donations in order to make the day special for those in need,” said Ngobese.

Entry is R10 for children and R20 for adults.

This year’s Glencoe Arts Festival promises to be the best one yet.
