Soccer supporters help child-headed households

The members visited homes where there are no parents and the eldest child is responsible for taking care of the little ones by means of social grants.

Members of the Vryheid Orlando Pirates Supporters Club joined hands and took part in an initiative called the ‘Social Responsibility Programme’ recently. They donated food parcels to child-headed households in and around Bhekuzulu.
The members visited homes where there are no parents and the eldest child is responsible for taking care of the little ones by means of social grants. When the soccer supporters visited these families, they found that some of the children do not have Identity Documents (IDs). They have since applied for Abridged Certificates in order to assist them.
‘’We would like to thank all Buccaneers who contributed to the success of the programme,” said Joe Myeni from the club.
