DHS learners spark at Eskom Expo for young scientists

DHS's young scientists on Friday travelled to Newcastle to take part in the annual Eskom Expo for young scientists.

DHS’s young scientists on Friday travelled to Newcastle to take part in the annual Eskom Expo for young scientists. The following learners received the following awards:
Ofentse Nkoagatse and Owethu Mohutsioa : Highly commended Group Project
Bongeka Mayisela : Bronze Medal,Kwanele Mtshali : Gold Medal and Most Promising Project, Nehal Ramgolam : Gold Medal and Best Mathematics Project. Well done to the above learners.
Tennis: On 28 July 2 DHS competed in a tennis tournament hosted by St Dominic’s Academy in Newcastle. The team played against Ferrum and Sarel Cilliers. The overall tournament results were as follows: Ferrum 10, DHS 8, Sarel Cilliers 3, DHS took first place in the mixed doubles division, DHS also took first place in the girls singles division,
Ferrum won the boys singles division and DHS finished second. DHS is very proud of our tennis team who worked hard during the July holiday in order to improve their skills.
Cricket: On Friday, the u/15 cricket team played against Ladysmith High and won by 129 runs. Our DHS first team travelled to Ladysmith on Saturday,  July 29, and also won by 134 runs! These two teams have proven that they are a force to be reckoned with and we are proud of them for starting the league with such overwhelming victories.
