Emadlangeni municipality and PETCO handover new PPE to municipal recyclers

Emadlangeni Municipality, in partnership with PET Plastic Recycling South Africa (PETCO), handed over 20 pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE) and a recycling scale to be used by local recyclers.

A municipal spokesperson said the objective of the programme was to provide support to the recyclers in the form of reflective PPE, which will minimise exposure to occupational health and safety hazards.

Mayor, Cllr. M.L. Buthelezi, commended the recyclers for helping to keep the environment clean and for contributing to sustainable environmental and waste management practices.

He encouraged them to continue ensuring that the streets are clean and pleaded that they act as agents of waste management by continuously sharing with the rest of the community the importance of recycling with.
