CoGTA MEC ‘unpacks’ service delivery in Ward 12

“A free society is one where women’s and children’s rights are protected.”

MEC for Co-operative Governance & Traditional Affairs Bongi-Sithole Moloi visited the community of Ward 12 on Tuesday last week.

As part of a service delivery programme, the MEC spoke at KwaJimane sports field and ‘unpacked’ various service delivery projects currently being implemented by the department.
The MEC outlined the installation of lightning conductors in the ward, which is part of government’s programme aimed at protecting vulnerable communities from weather-related incidents such as lightning strikes. She also talked about an electricity project, conducted a handover for a water project, gave ‘tools of the trade’ to SMMEs, and led a campaign on disaster awareness.
Many households will benefit from these projects, and many small business owners received what they require to keep their businesses afloat.

She concluded by calling upon men to play their role in the fight against gender-based violence, saying, “A free society is one where women’s and children’s rights are protected.”
