BOSA launches series of prayers for Freedom Month and Easter holidays

“KwaZulu-Natal is plagued by numerous challenges that infringe upon the freedoms of its citizens, such as crime, corruption, the high unemployment rate.''

Build One South Africa (BOSA) deputy leader Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster was joined by other leaders from different sectors of society on Saturday to launch the first of a series of prayers and religious gatherings to commemorate Freedom Month (April) and the Easter holidays.

The event took place at Mbilobomvu Hall in Bhekuzulu, where women prayed for freedom from poverty, gender-based violence, crime and corruption, as well as the restoration of communities.

This prayer session – under the theme ‘Until I arose, a mother in Africa’ – comes as the world wraps up International Women’s Month. Officials from BOSA mentioned that, “KwaZulu-Natal is plagued by numerous challenges that infringe upon the freedoms of its citizens, such as crime, corruption, the high unemployment rate, alarmingly unsolved political murders, and gender-based violence. Recently, the province witnessed the brutal killing of Keiran Jarryd (AKA) Forbes, who is among the many victims of violent crime. Last year, we also witnessed the senseless murder of a Zulu Royal, Prince Mbongiseni Milton Muntukaphiwana Zulu.”
