Majuba TVET students protest continues

Following last night's protest, Majuba TVET students again took to the streets this morning

The disgruntled students marched up Hardwick Street into Albert Wessels Drive, eventually arriving at Majuba TVET College’s head office.

It is understood that the protest is related to issues regarding NSFAS (National Student Financial Aid Scheme).

The protest remained relatively calm due to the large presence of the Newcastle SAPS, CPF members and various private security forces.

Representatives from the Majuba TVET College did come out to hear the students’ complaints and eventually ushered the students’ representatives into the college for further engagement.

No official comment has yet been received from the College
