Cicilia Pieterse offers a soul centric approach to mental wellness

Cicilia started her journey as a life coach in 2015 after realising she had the ability to help others.

When one thinks of beauty, brains and a heart of gold, the name Cicilia Pieterse comes to mind.

Cicilia has spent the last seven years on a mission to empower and uplift others as a dedicated life transformation mentor.

“After meeting countless people who were going through the same struggles I had been going through for so long, I knew I had to do something to help them, especially since I had the tried and tested model for becoming confident, empowered, and happy.”

Who is Cicilia Pieterse?

Cicilia was born and raised in Newcastle and later matriculated from Ferrum High School.

She described herself as playful and active as a child, saying, “You would always find me playing outside, either climbing a tree or running around somewhere. I also enjoyed modeling and dancing.”

Later in life, she met and married the love of her life, Alwyn Pieterse, and together they have three children.

Cicilia admitted she loveds to travel and dance as well as nature and, of course, shopping…

“My main passion however, is people. I love helping them escape from their darkness and find their own light,” she explained.

A journey as a life transformation mentor

Cicilia started her journey as a life coach in 2015 after realising she had the ability to help others.

“I struggled with depression since I was a teenager, and I once attempted suicide. Adult bullying became a part of my everyday life until a few years ago, when I made the conscious decision to take a stand. Having first-hand experience with the pain and heartache it caused me and my family, I changed my life and the lives of my children, and I wanted to do the same for others,” she said.

According to Cicilia, her mentorship programmes take a soul-centered approach to happiness.

“I accompany committed individuals on a journey to help them master the interconnectedness of body, soul, and spirit in order to become confident, empowered, and happy.”

She works mainly with people who have experienced trauma, depression, or anxiety. When these issues are addressed correctly, she said, longevity and growth are almost guaranteed.

“I focus on restoring balance to people’s personality functions by identifying all of the areas in their lives that cause chaos and unhappiness and providing them with the mental tools they need to empower themselves. Resolving these underlying issues has even resulted in significant weight loss with a few of my clients.”

Cicilia is certain that she has made a positive difference in the lives of the people she has mentored, adding that she was constantly receiving testimonials about their breakthroughs and new accomplishments.

“Throughout my journey with anyone, I completely trust God to be my guide of wisdom in revealing their inner strength. This gives me the most joy and satisfaction. I feel so blessed and grateful to be able to serve and assist God in healing His people,” she said.

Aside from mentoring, Cicilia believes that it is also critical for young girls and women to understand who they are and what they believe in, as this will save them a lot of pain as a result of physical and emotional abuse.

Moving forward, she hopes to become more involved in community projects, particularly working with orphanages.

“This will allow me to provide the children with the necessary guidance and ongoing support to help them grow into strong adults,” she explained.

More than just a pretty face

Cicilia, in addition to mentoring and being a successful businesswoman, has also dabbled in the bodybuilding industry.

“I was constantly teased for being too skinny and reluctant to gaining weight. In 2003, while in Pretoria, I met a lady, who introduced me to the sport. I saw this as an opportunity to gain muscle rather than body fat, so I began competing in bikini competitions,” she explained.

She competed for about four years, with her highlight being selected to compete in the 2011 World Championships in Austria.

Cicilia decided to pass on the title after competing in the World Championships, ending her journey on a high note.

“I set a goal for myself and achieved it when I first started competing in fitness competitions. It served its purpose, and I was ready to move on. I wanted to pursue my true calling and devote myself to my passion of working with people,” she concluded.
