Glen and Vida’s Rafferty’s murderers finally sentenced to life behind bars

Ngwenya and Madondo received six years in prison for housebreaking, 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances, and life imprisonment for each of the murders.

Doctor Fikane Ngwenya and Sibongiseni Madondo have been sentenced to life in prison with an additional 21 years, respectively, by the Pietermaritzburg High Court for the murders of Glen and Vida Rafferty.

This follows their conviction on charges of housebreaking with intent to steal and theft, robbery with aggravating circumstances, and two counts of murder, in which the elderly couple were killed on their farm in Normandien in the area in August 2020.

Their co-accused, Siyabonga Macu, was murdered before he could testify in the trial.
