CPF hosts first ever Crime Awareness Family Fun Day

Residents flocked to the Newcastle Farmers Market to show their support on the day, perusing the various stalls on offer.

Despite the inclement weather, the Newcastle Community Policing Forum (CPF) was determined to make their first ever Crime Awareness Family Fun Day a success, and they certainly did just that.

The event served as a fundraiser for the CPF, as well as a platform for other NGO’s and NPO’s to raise funds and raise awareness about the services they provide.

Residents flocked to the Newcastle Farmers Market to show their support on the day, perusing the various stalls on offer.

The enticing aromas of curry and rice, mini doughnuts, and a variety of other traditional, home-cooked delicacies filled the air, encouraging shoppers to fill that empty spot in their bellies.

“It was good to see the community coming out to support the vendors who chose to support the CPF’s initiative, especially with the downpour (of rain) we had,” said Newcastle Station CPF Chairperson Ismaeel Dhalech. “We honestly hope this will be the first of many CPF events going forward, and ask the community to get behind the newly elected CPF members as we are truly committed to helping fight crime in Newcastle.”
