Would-be hijacker nabbed by K9 cops

The suspect attempted to hijack a vehicle parked at a church

A suspect was arrested by K9 Unit officers this morning (October 27) after an attempted hijacking.

The would-be hijacker demanded the keys to a woman’s car that was parked outside a church in Victoria Road.

It is believed that a man who was at the church saw the commotion outside and rushed to help. By the time he had run out of the building, the suspect had already fled and jumped into a nearby driveway.

The woman was not injured in any way.

NN Alarms responded to the scene and also contacted police. K9 officers responded swiftly and gave chase.
