Fun-filled community sports day
Ward 2 Cllr Amina Sadeck thanked the Department of Sport & Recreation for being part of this entertaining event that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
The Department of Sport & Recreation (under Umzinyathi Municipality), in conjunction with Cllr Amina Sadeck, hosted a fun-filled day for the people of Ward 2 over the weekend.
The games took place at the Dundee Aerodrome on Saturday morning.
Residents set off at 06:30 on a 4km run from the airfield to Sibongile Location.
Local netball players then played friendly matches against each other, while the little ones enjoyed the jumping castle and sack race.
“This was great for us, as scholars, as we never get to have any fun during weekends in terms of recreational sport,” said Amahle Mnguni (15).
She added that it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves on and off the field.
