Local gymnasts hop and skip their way to success

Sponsorship and financial assistance is needed, though, as the club is still at grassroots level.

KwaZulu-Natal Gymnastic Union president Caron Henry, together with Wellington Magwaza and the gymnasts from Amajuba Hub, launched a ‘Skipanation’ in Sibongile Location on Friday, August 12.
A total of 112 jumpers took part from schools in Vryheid, Glencoe, Newcastle and Dundee.
Teachers and volunteers from the Social Enterprise Project also participated in a GL coaches course, with 47 participants.
“A lot has happened in our community, especially in Ward 5. We always emphasise that this gymnastics club is not only for Sibongile residents, but for the entire Dundee community,” said instructor Thokozani Disco. He added that they want to work with all councillors, irrespective of their political interests.
Sponsorship and financial assistance is needed, though, as the club is still at grassroots level. “We would appreciate any kind of assistance, as our main aim is to get our youngsters off the streets,” he concluded.
To offer sponsorship, please contact Musa on 073 1800 984 or Thokozani on 066 0516 841.
