‘New dawn’ by Halalisani Shoba

May the merciful God of all nations protect the throne, shine the light upon our province, protect and preserve our land. May we also practice the unity that His Majesty preached about.

August 20, 2022, will always be engraved in my heart and it is one of the memory I will keep forever. From a distance, it was heartwarming and exciting for the province of KwaZulu Natal and the country at large to witness the historical moment as His Majesty King MisuZulu ka Zwelithini entered the kraal (ukungena esibayeni). It was the first time I witnessed something so beautiful and eye-opening in my existence and I wish I was physically present to feel the energy and the spirit that was hovering around as the ceremony was proceeding.

A lot has been said and done regarding the conflicts surrounding the throne at the royal house, and as much as I have no clue of what was happening behind the scenes but it was heart-warming again to watch the unity amongst the Zulu warriors and Zulu maidens. The way, they sang their hymns and dance with joy, it was exciting and proved that they were proud of the occasion.

As thousands of people gathered in the presence of His Majesty and many were glued to their television screens and other different communication channels, indeed It stricken my mind that the new dawn is upon our Zulu kingdom. I’m talking about the new dawn, simply because I believe that, King MisuZulu ka Zwelithini in his ruling time, we are bound to experience a shift from how some things were used to be done in traditional methods into doing some of those things in a modern way since times have changed.

May the merciful God of all nations protect the throne, shine the light upon our province, protect and preserve our land. May we also practice the unity that His Majesty preached about.
