AARTO goes on the road for awareness

The Road Traffic Infringement Agency is bringing AARTO services closer to road users this week.

The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA), in collaboration with Newcastle Local Municipality and the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport, will host a National Public Education and Awareness Campaign this week (August 15) to August 19.

According to the municipality’s Head of Communications, Mlungisi Khumalo, the RTIA is bringing AARTO services closer to road users.

Road users will be assisted in determining the status of their AARTO infringements and will be advised on how to resolve the same infringements by selecting from the available legislated elective options,” he said.

Details of the campaign are as follows:

AARTO Education and Awareness – Tuesday, August 16:

AARTO Education and Awareness ‘Knock and Drop’ Campaign – Thursday, August 18:

Hotspot Prayer and AARTO Friday – Friday, August 19:

The AARTO Act aims to improve municipal law enforcement by instituting a standardised, equitable and fair traffic violation system.”
