We still don’t have running water

To this day, some areas in Lindelani Extension 18 have not had a drop since that meeting.

Editor –

I was so disappointed after reading last week’s Courier article about Lindelani residents demanding water at Umzinyathi District Municipality (UDM), as we still don’t have water after that impromptu meeting.
It has come to our attention that UDM manager German Dlozi was just saying that he will look into the matter just to brush residents off.
To this day, some areas in Lindelani Extension 18 have not had a drop since that meeting.
Do they want us to block the roads and burn tyres before they act, because it seems like that is the only language they understand? The worst part of this is that there is no communication from their side to explain why our taps are dry.
If I hadn’t read the Courier, I would have not known about the Biggarsberg plant upgrade, because UDM doesn’t care to come back to the community and address us.
I hope that UDM Mayor Ngubane sleeps peacefully at night knowing that we are suffering in Lindelani and have to go to our neighbouring locations to beg for water, which is an essential part of life.
While their pockets are full, we are trying to survive this side without water.
