DHS welcomes new staff and thanks blood donors

The DHS family is thankful for being given the opportunity and 'trusted to save lives', alongside the Blood Bank.

Dundee High School (DHS) would like to formally introduce their new staff for the second half of the year.
Miss Matela, Mrs Dawood and Mr Mahlobo have joined the dynamic staff and DHS looks forward to their valuable contributions in the future.
Miss Matela and Mr Mahlobo have already joined the soccer coaching team, and they were passionate and extremely involved from the get-go. Miss Matela has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and completed her PGCE in order to specialise in Life Orientation in the FET phase and SP. Her teaching subjects at DHS will include Life Orientation from Grade 8 to 12 and Arts & Culture in Grade 8.
Mrs Dawood is currently completing the final year of her teaching qualification, specialising in FET ENGHL, and Mr Mahlobo has a Bachelors degree specialising in Senior and FET phase in Geography and Life Sciences. He will be teaching Social Sciences and LO.
Blood Bank
On Tuesday last week, the SANBS (Blood Bank) and Dundee High School united to make an impact for the greater good: saving lives!
Both students and staff took part in this wonderful initiative by donating blood (some of the learners even stayed after school to do their part). This resulted in 99 donations from the school, making DHS the overall best performing school in the area.
The DHS family is thankful for being given the opportunity and ‘trusted to save lives’, alongside the Blood Bank.
In every successful Blood Bank drive we’ve had this year, this team of representatives keeps proving to the school that hard work brings success. Congratulations once again to the Blood Bank representatives of 2022 for their incredible service.
And a huge shout-out to all the students and staff who donated (or better yet, to the DHS lifesavers!).

Blood Bank representatives Zahra Ameen, Zandisiwe Maphalala, Muhammad Yaseen Khader, Yanetso Selepe and Dané Tschirpig.
