Are your pets vaccinated against rabies?

Pet owners are urged to bring in their animals for rabies vaccinations.

Rabies is a year-round threat in KwaZulu-Natal, with cases reported each year. This is according to Janine Ferrier from the Department of Agriculture’s State Veterinary Services.

Ferrier is urging pet owners to bring their animals in for rabies vaccinations.

The official rabies campaign, organised by the State Veterinarian Office, will take place as follows:

Monday, August 15:

  • 09:00 to 15:00 – corner of Hospital and Sutherland Streets
  • 09:00 to 15:00 – Arbor Park Shopping Centre (near Puma Garage)
  • 11:00 to 15:00 – Siyahlala-la (street to street)
  • 09:00 to 11:00 – Fairleigh Community Hall

Tuesday, August 16:

  • 09:00 to 15:00 – Lennoxton Library
  • 09:00 to 15:00 – Fernwood Shop

Wednesday, August 17:

  • 09:00 to 15:00 – Newcastle Swimming Pool (Pioneer Park)

Thursday, August 18:

  • 09:00 to 15:00 – Barry Hertzog Park Shopping Centre
  • 09:00 to 15:00 – Amajuba Park Shopping Centre
  • 09:00 to 15:00 – Ncandu Park Shopping Centre

Friday, August 19:

  • 09:00 to 15:00 – Pick n Pay Family Hutten Heights

Saturday, August 20:

  • 08:00 to 14:00 – Farmers Hall parking area.
