Community learns about alternative solar power

It is vital for farmers, businesses (in all sectors), as well as private homeowners to know what is available to combat load-shedding

Two highly-qualified and experienced technicians from the ACDC company’s main offices in Durban recently came to Dundee to give a presentation on alternative power at Chez Nous.
We are all suffering under load-shedding and the technicians, Mark Shear and Dean Geyser, were there to let everyone know that generators are not the only solution.
Dundee Tourism chairperson Elisabeth Durham organised the presentation with the aim of allowing the local community to benefit from alternative energy.
It is vital for farmers, businesses (in all sectors), as well as private homeowners to know what is available to combat load-shedding, hence the visit.
Mark and Dean spoke about off-grid systems and hybrid systems.
The company they represent, called ACDC Durban, has been in operation since 1984.
It was told that solar panels and inverters can be installed by local qualified electricians in Dundee.
Mark and Dean are thanked for travelling all the way from Durban to come and provide valuable insight into this pressing issue.
Thanks also to Craig for sponsoring the Quench water: Dundee’s very own spring water.
And thank you to all who attended.
Presentation folders are still available for those who would like to read up more about alternative energy.
