Two seriously injured in morning collision (VIDEO)

Medics arrived at the scene to find two people still trapped inside their vehicle.

Two people sustained serious injuries, after the light motor vehicle they were travelling in collided with an SUV at the intersection of Impala Drive and Victoria Road. The collision occurred at around 07:30 this morning (July 26).

Officials at the scene indicated that the light motor vehicle was turning onto Impala Road at the time of the crash.

According to Jan-Henk from Magenta Medical Services, medics arrived at the scene to find two people trapped inside their vehicle. Newcastle Fire Services officials were on scene to extricate the passengers of the car using the Jaws of Life.

[The passengers] were stabilised on scene and rushed to a local hospital for further care,” reported van Vuuren.

The exact cause of the collision is unknown at this stage and will remain subject to further investigations.
