Business burglarised during load-shedding

The SAPS urge the community to report anyone selling stolen goods to their nearest police station.

Nobungani Build-It in Gladstone Street was burglarised on Wednesday night.
The suspects fled the scene with cash and building equipment.
The store’s drop box safe was taken, while the larger safe was cut open and an undisclosed amount of money stolen.
Entry was gained through the roof, the alarm was disarmed and all the store’s camera cables were cut.
The padlocks on the front door and receiving door were broken, but the back door was not damaged. The back door was, however, opened and that’s where the suspects exited the premises. According to the store manager, all the doors were locked and the alarm was on when they left the shop last Wednesday evening.
The break-in happened some time during load-shedding, which was between 19:00 and 21:00 on Wednesday night.
The SAPS urge the community to report anyone selling stolen goods to their nearest police station.
The case is still under investigation.
