Armed robbers flee the scene with money, phones and equipment

In total, about R9000 worth of goods were taken by the brazen thugs.

Armed men robbed Big Wheel Quick Shop in Gladstone Street on Saturday night at around 20:30.
Wearing balaclavas, the five suspects demanded cash and cellphones from the workers.
A sum of about R13,000 was taken from the cash register. Cigarettes, airtime, an airtime machine, electricity machine, and all the employees’ cellphones were also stolen.
In total, about R9000 worth of goods were taken by the brazen thugs.
Entry was gained through the main door of the shop.
The store owner, whose name is known to the Courier, said that no one was hurt during the robbery, but all his employees are still traumatised after the incident.
Dundee SAPS advise the community not to buy stolen goods and to report anyone selling stolen goods to their nearest police station.
