Municipality launches ‘Service Delivery Week’

The event demonstrates that the municipality 'serves the interests of the people and prioritises their needs'.

Xolani Dube, Mayor of Newcastle, has declared 2022 the year of clean governance, improving service delivery and bringing government closer to the people.

At the launch of Service Delivery Week in Charlestown on Wednesday (July 20), Cllr Dube handed over 10 houses and 150 title deeds to families. He also officially opened the doors of the Charlestown Community Hall.

A wheelchair was also donated to a wheelchair-bound basketball player, who will represent South Africa internationally later this year.

Service Delivery Week is the municipality’s way of demonstrating that it serves the interests of the people and prioritises their needs.”
