Modern Home Affairs office opened in Paulpietersburg

"This platform, where we interact with communities in an unmediated manner, affords us an opportunity to listen first-hand to what challenges they face, what solutions they offer and how we can resolve them by working together."

Home Affairs Deputy Minister Njabulo Nzuza officially opened a modernised Paulpietersburg Home Affairs office recently to bring better service to the local community. The deputy minister was joined by eDumbe Deputy Mayor Majuba Mavuso and senior Home Affairs officials.

“We are extremely excited to open this office, because our responsibility as the government is to ensure that we bring services closer to communities. This will enable them to gain access to other services that include education, social grants, as well as banking,” said Deputy Minister Nzuza.

Deputy Mayor Mavuso explained that the local leadership has been engaged in consultations with senior Home Affairs leadership at both provincial and national level, with a view to improving Home Affairs services offered to the local community.
“We have a long-standing relationship with the Home Affairs department and today we are witnessing the fruits of our engagements,” he said.

Deputy Minister Nzuza then interacted with the community of eMondlo, where he listened to issues the community is confronted with.

He handed out Smart ID cards to learners, while the Home Affairs mobile office facilities took in applications for various Home Affairs services.

“This platform, where we interact with communities in an unmediated manner, affords us an opportunity to listen first-hand to what challenges they face, what solutions they offer and how we can resolve them by working together.”

The deputy minister applauded the active role played by local stakeholders in an effort to improve government service delivery machinery.
