Ladies’ champs don’t lose a single game while top men’s team defend their title

Desmond and his team reigned supreme, beating the Vryheid team by one shot to clinch the title.

The Northern Zone Fours competition was hosted by Dundee Bowling Club this past weekend.
Conditions were typical of this time of year; crisp mornings but beautiful sunny days. In the men’s competition, it was Desmond Johnson and his team from Dundee (defending champions) and Douglas Steele and his team from Vryheid who made it through to the final, which was played on Sunday morning.
Desmond and his team reigned supreme, beating the Vryheid team by one shot to clinch the title. The ladies played a round robin format, with three games played on Saturday and two on Sunday. In the end, it was Rita Meyer and her team from Dundee who raised the trophy, not losing a single game. Hannelie Arndt and her team from Dundee were runners-up.
Congratulations to all who participated.
