Security guard deployed at pump station is shot dead
The man was shot and later died from his injuries
A security guard deployed at a pump station in Estcourt was shot during the early hours of this morning.
When police arrived on scene, the man had sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken for medical treatment, tragically he later died.
“The man was in Canna Avenue when he was approached by two unknown males. The men demanded cash and when he informed them that he did not have any cash on him, one of them pulled out a firearm and shot him,” commented police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
According to police the deceased has not yet been identified.
“At this stage the motive for the shooting is unknown,” said W/O Khan.
