No water in some parts of town

Report problems on 036 631 4436, 036 631 4437 or 0860 104 257

Residents in Observation Hill and other parts of Ladysmith have been left without water from yesterday (July 8).

The cause of the water outage is not known at this stage.

Ward 12 Democratic Alliance (DA) councillor Sharon Buys says the matter was only reported to her this morning (July 9) and she then reported it to uThukela District Municipality.

“I would like to encourage residents to report to uThukela whenever they have a problem. When I called uThukela, I was told that I was the first one to call. However, some residential areas started experiencing water shortages yesterday.”

“We must normalise reporting so that they (uThukela) know about the problem. If a lot of people are reporting a matter, it is likely to get urgent attention, unlike when people rely on me only to report on their behalf,” said Cllr Buys.
