Two injured in truck collision

The jaws-of-life had to be used to rescue the occupants who were trapped in one of the trucks

Two people were injured this morning (July 1) after two trucks collided on the N3 Johannesburg-northbound near the Bergville interchange.

The occupants of one of the trucks were trapped in the wreckage and the jaws-of-life had to be used.

Both patients were rushed to hospital.

Clean-up operations are currently taking place and one of the northbound lanes is obstructed.

Traffic is moving past the scene using a section of the centre median.

Motorists are advised to approach the scene with caution and expect delays.

Police, RTI, Public Safety and emergency services responded to the scene.
