Utrecht resident turns to community for help

Rozenna's medical costs have left the Laas family struggling to put food on the table.

Single mother, Rozenna Laas (38) was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this year.

After emergency surgery in February, doctors noticed a 15 centimetre tumour had burst. Further tests after the surgery revealed the cancer had metastasised (spread) to her lungs and had progressed to stage 4.

Pastor Wessel Fourie said that following this diagnosis, it was time to step in and assist the Laas family. He explained Rozenna and her family are struggling to make ends meet due to the cost of her treatment.

We decided admitting Rozenna to the Witvlei Lifestyle Center would give her the best chance of fighting cancer… The centre offers specially designed programmes for cancer patients – Rozenna would go through an intensive colon cleansing and cancer-fighting programme,” he explained.
