Dundee radio station Neutral Stereo FM celebrated the Youth Day public holiday (June 16) by inviting learners from local schools to take part in the Neutral Chillas Drive Show.
Aspiring young DJs were given various time slots to showcase their talent at commanding the airwaves.
Melusi Masondo was the radio star from Sarel Cilliers High School and was given the 15:00 to 18:00 time slot.
Melusi is well known at Sarel Cilliers for being one of the top academic achievers in matric, regularly making the top 10 since he started at the school. Melusi is also a talented rapper and performer who recently hosted the Sarel Cilliers Talent Show with his identical twin brother, Mesuli, who is equally talented.
The dynamic duo love to show off their oratory skills and dance moves. Melusi used his oratory skills to magnificent effect behind the microphone as he started his radio debut with a rap he wrote himself.
His smooth dulcet tones are extremely well-suited to radio, and his research and comments were insightful and pertinent as he encouraged the youth of today to look after the planet.
The last time slot of the day was entertaining and informative. Well done, Melusi – you did your school proud!
