Couple recounts flooding rescue mission –

Stanley and Madelein Holloway, a married couple who both work for SAPS, have recently returned from a search and rescue mission in Inanda. They were both deployed to Durban area following the devastating KwaZulu-Natal flooding in April.

Recounting the experience, Stanley explained he was on duty in mid-April when he got the call from SAPS KZN. His planned one day on the job ended up taking more than six weeks.

Madelein joined him in Inanda after two weeks. She stayed on and assist on the logistical side of the rescue operation, saying with a smile that it was like the team wouldn’t let her leave.
