Al-Imdaad relieves dry spell at Estcourt Hospital

Fresh drinking water was supplied for the patients

As widespread water interruptions continue to flow, one of the town’s essential facilities has been affected.

Water disruptions have struck at Estcourt Hospital, resulting in strict water restrictions in certain wards.

This is yet to be confirmed by Health Department provincial spokesperson Mdu Ncalane who has been asked about the severity of the water disruptions and which services it has affected.

uThukela District Municipality has also not responded yet to questions, which included the cause of the prolonged water interruption and when stable water supply was expected.

Meanwhile local relief organisation, the Al-Imdaad Foundation delivered water to the hospital today (June 21).

“We distributed water with our tanker as well as 5 litre and 500ml bottled water for the patients,” said Naeem Khan from the foundation.
