Anton Fitchat reaps musical rewards –
Newcastle singing sensation, Anton Fitchat continues to make waves in the music industry. He was recently honoured by the prestigious Melomaan Music Awards in two categories.
He co-wrote Staan sterk in Afrikaans with close friend, Dwayne Griffin and recorded with eight other artists. For this song, he received an award, as well as for his children’s song Rooikappie.
It was a spectacular evening with so many wonderful people in attendance. It was incredible to meet new people and form new friendships while reigniting old ones,” he said of the awards evening.
Fitchat congratulated all the award-winners, with a special thanks to Afrikaans songbird, Irene-Louise van Wyk, who he sees as a role model for many young and aspiring artists.
