Hughes Road sewer leak not fixed after three years
The residents feel that the leak also poses a danger to their health
It’s been over three years that residents of Hughes Road in Colenso have been living in a ‘pigsty’ due to a sewage leak that has been plaguing the area.
Residents say they have reported the matter to uThukela on numerous occasions, without getting any joy.

This is not the first time the Ladysmith Gazette has reported on the same sewer leak. The newspaper ran a story about it last year in the September 25 edition.
However, the district municipality has not done anything about the situation to date.
