Ncome rewards members for loyalty

Words of support were also delivered by Ncome Medium Correctional Centre head Mrs Christina Zondo

The Department of Correctional Services, Ncome Management Area, recently presented their members with certificates to thank and recognise them for their loyalty. Human Resource Support manager Ms Ntokozo Ntshiza said that 10- and 20-year ‘long service’ awards reflect the competency of the management, and it was therefore vital that members get what is due to them to show that the department does not take their loyalty for granted. A total of 239 members were recognised.

Addressing all present, area commissioner Mr Anthony Gina reminded the Correctional Services employees that the name ‘Ncome’ has been in the news for all the wrong reasons and that it was time for good news. “I am today elated that we are celebrating good work and not chasing after members for unethical behaviour,” said Gina. He then continued to remind the members of the huge job that lies ahead, which is to ensure that this management area regains its dignity through hardworking, dedicated and loyal workers. “My job is to develop and support you; not to destroy you. There are people who have PHDs but are struggling to find employment. Let us be grateful to God that we have employment during these difficult, trying times and ensure that we continue to do what is expected of us and impart the knowledge that we have gained through the years that are behind us,” continued Gina.

Words of support were also delivered by Ncome Medium Correctional Centre head Mrs Christina Zondo, where she congratulated members for their long service and urged them to surround themselves with people who enhance them to become better. “Shy away from individuals who are destined to pull you down, and strive to excel in your daily operational activities,” concluded Zondo.
