A nationwide search for 28-year-old Lesedi Radebe and her two-year-old son, Bohlale, from Alberton in Gauteng, has come to a tragic end. The bodies of the mother and son were discovered on the R34 Utrecht Road between Saturday (June 4) and Monday (June 6).

It was reported that Lesedi and her son were last seen leaving their home in Alberton on May 31.

According to national media reports, it was unclear what happened prior to the murders, but Lesedi and her son were reported missing in Johannesburg on June 3.

Her vehicle was later found abandoned in the Newcastle CBD.

KwaZulu-Natal SAPS Spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Nqobile Gwala is quoted in the media as stating that Lesedi’s body was discovered on Saturday, while the body of Bohlale was discovered on Monday. Both their throats were reportedly slit.

The murder is currently under investigation.

The victims were reported missing in Gauteng, and the suspect was reported to have thrown himself underneath a moving truck.”
