Troika brings relief to Utrecht’s elderly –

Mayor of Emadlangeni (Utrecht), Mzwakhe Buthelezi and the municipal troika visited old age home, SAVF Huis Joanna on May 24.

According to municipal spokesperson, Ayanda Mabaso, the visit was to fulfil Cllr Buthelezi’s commitment after a visit made earlier in the year, during which groceries and medical consumables were donated to the old age home.

The visit was fruitful, as various food items and medical consumables were handed over and received with much joy by the facility management and residents.”

Cllr Buthelezi also touched on the topic of Huis Joanna operating as a deficit, as a result of historical debt owed to the municipality, and committed to devising a plan with his team to strategise on ways to assist the home in this regard.

Huis Joanna operates as a non-profit organisation in Utrecht.
