Rugby player needs sponsorship to go on trip

Ward 7 Councillor Abdool is urging Dundee residents to help the young player.

16-year-old Sarel Cilliers High School learner Tebogo Sithole has been selected for the U/16 Northern KwaZulu-Natal rugby team.
He will be travelling to Heidelberg in Gauteng and is looking for sponsorship, as his trip will cost R5400. This includes accommodation, transport and food.
Tebogo is also in dire need of new rugby boots.
During the trip, Tebogo will be playing various provincial and inter-provincial matches from June 28 to July 2.
Ward 7 Councillor Abdool is urging Dundee residents to help the young player. “I see potential in this young man. It is our duty to cultivate his interest in rugby and help take it to the next level,” said Cllr Abdool.
He also explained that Tebogo’s mother is a single parent who, at this time, cannot afford to pay for this sporting excursion.
“Going on this trip will mean a lot for me, as it will increase my chances of getting a scholarship and trying out for the first Northern Natal team. I will also get exposure that will enhance my skills on the rugby field and academically as well,” explained Tebogo. For these reasons, he urges the community to help him realise his dream.
