Residents urged to keep Newcastle green

The four recycling bins in Hutten Heights cater for four common kinds of waste.

Residents urged to keep Newcastle green –

With the effects of pollution consistently making headlines worldwide, the focus on recycling has intensified. In Newcastle, residents are being called on to help keep the town green.

In an effort to give waste a ‘second chance’, recycling bins have been set up at Pick n Pay Hutten Heights. The bins cater for four common types of waste: glass, paper, plastic and cans.

This initiative is the brainchild of GreenCycle, a Port Elizabeth-based company with a goal to educate residents on the importance of recycling. The company hopes to stem the tide of waste in this way.

Residents are urged to dispose of their recyclable waste using the bins at Pick n Pay.
