A motorist was startled when smoke started to waft from the engine of the vehicle while travelling on the N3 today (June 2).
The motorist made a stop on the roadside near Midway and emergency services were called to the scene.
When local fire fighters arrived, they quickly put out a small fire that had started in the engine.

According to fire services on scene, it is believed that the fire was caused by an electric fault.
No one was injured and there was no obstruction to the freeway.
