On May 25, more than 9 000 eager learners descended on the Richview Civic Centre, to take part in what is said to be the largest youth expo in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. This event was hosted by the Newcastle Municipality.
Newcastle hosted the region’s largest Youth Career Expo, which recorded the largest youth development gathering,” said Mlungisi Khumalo, from the municipal Communications Unit.
The programme, according to Khumalo, formed part of the municipality’s ongoing efforts to ‘usher in a new era of youth development, skill development, and empowerment campaigns’.
“The game-changer, dubbed ‘the biggest career youth expo in NKZN’, aimed to bring together the country’s leading institutions of higher learning, business organisations, sector departments, leading companies and key economic drivers in one place.”
